Chocolate Turtle Empanadas @ On The Border in Plano

Next time you are at "On The Border”, order this. They are empanadas fried to golden brown and stuffed with chocolate and caramel. With a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle to help cool down the freshly fried goodness. Can’t go wrong. You can even share if that makes you happy.

Castle Noodle (Guay Teaw Lord) at Noodle Boat in Issaquah, WA

We ordered the Castle Noodle (Guay Teaw Lord) and it was delicious. We got the minced pork and it sits on a bed of thick flat rice noodle with bean sprouts and fried tofu. The sauce is nice and savory since it had the saltiness of Thai fish sauce and the sweetness of the thick sweet soy sauce. I added a little more Thai crushed dried chili peppers on and it was perfect.

All-You-Can-Eat Lobster Dish at Haiku Sushi in Redmond, WA

Haiku Sushi is your typical all-you-can-eat Japanese place. They have several sections dedicated to cold foods, hot foods, steamed foods, desserts, and fruits. After the meal for the kids, they have fresh cotton candy, ice cream, and a chocolate fountain. Who am I kidding, I like all those too! The main attraction on the weekends is the stir-fried lobster dish. Even though the lobster is a bit on the dry side, the flavor is savory.
